Message Me A Song...

One of my husband and I's favorite thing to do while we were dating was to just listen to music together while driving around.  We didn't really have a place we were driving to, sometimes we would just drive around in circles and listen to the radio.  We grew up and met on Oahu when I was 15, you couldn't really drive anywhere,, but around.  He loves the Delilah radio show, even to this day.  After moving to Vegas, we loved going on road trips to Southern California. 5 hours of our favorite songs playing, was the greatest thing!  Sometimes I pretended to be asleep just to hear him sing along to his favorite sappy 80s love songs. Of course it was hard to hide my laughter, so pretending to sleep never lasted long.

Things changed.  We got married.  We had two kids. His work schedule is all over the place.  So whenever he has a few minutes at work he'll YouTube a song and send it to me.  And I do the same.  It drives me nuts when he sends me an annoying songs (usually an EDC kinda song) that he can't get out of his head.  He thinks we should be annoyed together.  In return I send him songs from the soundtracks of old 80s and 90s movies.  It makes him crazy when he can't remember what movie the song came from.  Isn't that what marriage is about; annoying your spouse or driving them crazy...

We had a court wedding.  Nothing planned.  We got our wedding license a few months into my first pregnancy.  We waited.  His family never wanted us together.  My family wanted us to get married because I was pregnant.  One Sunday morning we woke up, didn't know what to do that day, so we got married.  Our first dance as husband and wife happened possibly weeks later, in the shower, to a song on a mixed cd I had "borrowed" months before moving to Vegas.  I'm not a big follower of the Asian music scene, I didn't know the title of the song or who sang it. But you can find anything on YouTube...
